 A short hop across the International Date Line from Alaska to Provideniya. The Chukchi
and Yupik people were the last groups to be subdued in the Russian conquest
of Siberia. These coastal people are the western-most members of a
cultural group that in ancient times migrated 3000 miles across North America to Greenland. We will travel to the
countryside of the Yupik village, New Chaplino, where reindeer herding has
